Day 8 - Simple, Very Tasty Cauliflower Cheese Steaks
Ok. Yes, they are very tasty. I’ve never had cauliflower baked, only raw in salads or with dip. This was really different. I tried to find a ‘large’ head of cauliflower but all I could find were the size of a large softball. Instead of steaks, the cauliflower was more of the steak ‘bites’ size. Still, very tasty. When I took them out of the oven the first thing I thought was that they look nothing like the picture, the color was way off. Then I realized it’s because Nagi uses orange cheddar cheese and I use white cheddar cheese! The parmesan crumbs were crunchy and all in all it was a dish I wish my Mom had made when younger. If she had fixed this one and the broccoli fritters from the other day my siblings and I would’ve ate more veggies. Filling, but I don’t know if I would call it dinner. Well, with the size of my cauliflower I wouldn’t call it dinner. In fact, I made it for lunch today and it was the perfect individual serving for that. Mike is bringing home Casa Mia pizza for dinner so I will close until tomorrow. He took some leftovers down from the past week to his brother. I think that when the recipe is over a serving for 5 then I shall halve it. It’s just the two of us, after all.
